How to Build Your Own Reading Owl

Supplies Needed

  • Reading owl craft template
  • Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • White copy paper or construction paper (optional)

Step 1: Color the pieces

Color the main piece, glasses, wings, and book with crayons, markers, or colored pencils.

Owls come in shades of brown, tan, gray, and white, but you can use any colors you like.

Step 2: Cut out the pieces

Use the dashed lines as a guide while cutting out each piece. It’s completely fine if there’s a little white space, especially around the glasses.

Step 3: Add the glasses

Glue the glasses onto the owl’s face, centering them above the beak.

Step 4: Finish your reading owl

Glue the book onto the front of the owl. Then, glue one wing on each side of the owl to finish the craft.
