Here’s an easy fruit craft to add to your plans this spring or summer!

Kids can build their own strawberry by coloring the pieces, cutting them out, and gluing everything together.

This craft works well with fruit, farm, gardening, or healthy food themes in preschool or kindergarten.

It’s also a fun activity to save for National Strawberry Month in May or National Pick Strawberries Day.

How to Build Your Own Strawberry

Supplies Needed

  • Strawberry craft template
  • Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • White copy paper or construction paper (optional)

Step 1: Color the pieces

Color the strawberry, leaves, and seeds with crayons, markers, or colored pencils.

You can get as creative as you want here. It doesn’t have to look exactly like a real strawberry. Have fun with it!

Step 2: Cut out the pieces

Cut out each piece.

Younger children may need help cutting around the leaves. For the easiest cuts, start at each leaf point and cut inward.

Step 3: Assemble and paste

Start by pasting the main strawberry piece. Then, add your leaves and seeds.

It may be easier to paste onto a piece of paper or construction paper, but it’s not necessary.
