Printable Build An Ice Cream Sundae Craft
Here’s an easy summer craft idea!
Kids can build their own ice cream sundae by coloring the scoops, bowl, cherry, strawberry, and wafer sticks, then cutting out the pieces and gluing everything together.
There’s plenty of scissor practice with this one, so it works well for preschoolers and kindergartners who are still building those skills.
Save this activity for a hot summer afternoon when everyone is ready to cool off indoors.

How to Build Your own Ice Cream Sundae

Supplies Needed
- Ice cream sundae craft template
- Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- White copy paper or construction paper (optional)
Step 1: Color all the pieces
Color the ice cream scoops, bowl, wafer sticks, and toppings however you’d like. Mix and match your favorite ice cream flavors to create your own sundae!
Step 2: Cut out each piece
Next, cut out each piece. It’s totally fine if they have a small border.
Step 3: Start assembling
If you’re using a background, glue your pieces in this order:
- Wafer sticks
- Back scoop
- Strawberry
- Front two scoops
- Bowl
- Cherry
If you’re not using a background, turn the bowl over and glue in the reverse order:
- Front two scoops
- Strawberry
- Back scoop
- Wafer sticks

Step 4: Glue the cherry on top
Every ice cream sundae needs a cherry on top!
Finish your craft by gluing the cherry in place.
