Printable Build A Donut Craft
Here’s an easy sweet treat craft to try this summer!
With this cut-and-paste activity, kids can color the donut, frosting, and sprinkles, then cut and paste everything together to build their own donut.
This activity works well for preschool or kindergarten ages and can be a fun way to get some extra scissor practice during the summer months.
The printable template needed to make this craft is available in my Etsy shop. Grab it below, or keep reading to see how it’s assembled.

How to Build Your Own Donut

Supplies Needed
- Donut craft template
- Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- White copy paper or construction paper (optional)
Step 1: Color the pieces
Color all of the donut pieces with crayons, markers, or colored pencils.
Choose your favorite frosting color, and make the sprinkles as colorful as you’d like!
Step 2: Cut out the pieces
Next, cut out all three pieces.
Don’t worry about cutting perfectly on the lines.
It’s completely fine if there’s a small border around the edges.
Step 3: Start with the donut
If you’re using a background, center the large round donut piece on the page and glue it down.

Step 4: Add the frosting
Glue the frosting onto the center of the donut.

Step 5: Finish your donut
Glue the small circle onto the middle of the frosting to create the donut hole.

Now your frosted donut is finished!
