Printable Build A T-Rex Craft
T. rex is one of the most recognizable dinosaurs!
Color the pieces, cut them out, and glue them onto a sheet of paper or construction paper to create your own T. rex.
This is a fun activity to save for any dino themes you might have coming up in daycare, preschool, or homeschool.
It’s also an easy one to make at home if you’re just looking for some extra scissor practice.

How to Build Your Own T-Rex

Supplies Needed
- T-rex craft template
- Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- White copy paper or construction paper (optional)
Step 1: Color the pieces
Color the main dinosaur piece, arms, legs, and tail with crayons, markers, or colored pencils.
Have fun choosing different colors for the stripes to give your dinosaur its own unique look.
Step 2: Cut out the pieces
Next, cut out all of the pieces.
Don’t worry about cutting perfectly on the lines. It’s completely fine if there’s a small border around the edges, especially in the trickier spots!
Step 3: Glue the back pieces first
Start by gluing the tail, back leg, and right arm behind the main dinosaur piece. These pieces need to go on first so they peek out from behind the dinosaur.
Use the guide on the template to help position each piece.

Step 4: Finish your dinosaur
Glue on the front leg, arm, and eye to finish your dinosaur.
Moving the eye to different spots can make your dinosaur look in different directions.
