Printable Build a Sloth Craft
Sloths are one of the most adorable animals in the rainforest, and kids absolutely love them!
This printable includes all the pieces needed to build your own sloth hanging from a branch.
Color the pieces, cut them out, and glue everything onto a sheet of paper or piece of construction paper to put it all together.
This activity works great for rainforest themes, jungle themes, or zoo animal units in daycare, preschool, or kindergarten.
All you need are some scissors, crayons or markers, and a glue stick.

How to Build Your Own Sloth

Supplies Needed
- Sloth craft template
- Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- White copy paper or construction paper (optional)
Step 1: Color the pieces
Color the pieces to build your sloth along with the branch piece with crayons, markers, or colored pencils.
Sloths are usually shades of brown, tan, and gray, but feel free to get as creative as you’d like.
Step 2: Cut out the pieces
Next, cut out all of the pieces.
Cut around each piece using the dashed lines as a guide. Remember, it doesn’t have to be perfect.
Step 3: Add the branch, arm, and leg
If you’re using a background, glue the main body piece onto the paper first.
Then, glue the branch across the back arm and leg, lining it up with the claws.
Add the top arm and leg so it looks like the sloth is holding onto the branch.

Step 4: Finish your sloth
Glue the head onto the side of the body to finish your sloth.
I think it looks adorable to add a little tilt, but it’s up to you!
