Printable Build a Squirrel Craft
Squirrels are everywhere in the fall, busy collecting acorns before winter arrives!
With this cut-and-paste activity, kids can color the pieces, cut them out, and build their own squirrel, complete with a fluffy tail and acorn.
This is a great one to have ready for fall themes or forest animal units in preschool or kindergarten.

How to Build Your Own Squirrel

Supplies Needed
- Squirrel craft template
- Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- White copy paper or construction paper (optional)
Step 1: Color the pieces
Color all the pieces with crayons, markers, or colored pencils.
You can use traditional fall colors or come up with your own color combination.
Step 2: Cut out the pieces
Next, cut out all of the pieces.
Don’t worry about cutting perfectly on the lines.
It’s completely fine if there’s a small border around the edges.
Step 3: Add the tail
Glue the tail behind the right side of the squirrel’s body.
If you’re using a background, you can glue the tail directly onto the paper first and then layer the body piece over it. Either way works!

Step 4: Add the head
Glue the squirrel’s head onto the top of the body.

Step 5: Finish your squirrel
Glue the piece with the acorn and front paws onto the squirrel’s belly.
Now you should have a squirrel holding an acorn!
