Printable Build a Campsite Craft
There’s nothing quite like the magic of camping under the open sky!
Kids can build their own campsite by coloring the tent, campfire, trees, and other pieces, then cutting them out and arranging everything on a sheet of paper or construction paper.
This activity works well for camping, summer, or nature themes in daycare, preschool, or summer camp.
All you need are some crayons or markers, scissors, and a glue stick.
The printable template needed to make this craft is available in my Etsy shop. Grab it below, or keep reading to see how it’s assembled.

How to Build Your Own Campsite

Supplies Needed
- Campsite craft template
- Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- White copy paper or construction paper
Step 1: Color the pieces
Color all of the camping scene pieces with crayons, markers, or colored pencils.
You can use the colors shown here or come up with your own color combination.
Step 2: Cut out the pieces
Next, cut out all of the pieces.
The small grass pieces can be a little tricky to cut out, so younger kids may need some extra help. You can also leave them out if you’d like.
Step 3: Start with the trees
Glue the two trees near the center of the page.
Leave enough room in front of them for the rest of the campsite.

Step 4: Add the ground
Glue the large grassy piece across the bottom of the trees, covering the ends of the trunks.

Step 5: Build your campsite
Glue the tent in front of the trees.
Then, add the backpack and campfire beside it.

Step 6: Finish your camping scene
Add the sun, sign, and small grass pieces (if you chose to include them!) wherever you’d like.

Now your camping scene is finished!
